A concerned group has urged Agidigbo FM CEO and Accord Party governorship aspirant, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, to publicly clarify his alleged relationship with Surajudeen Babatunde Adio, alias “Surii Ilupeju,” after a police raid in Ibadan led to multiple arrests. The call follows an Oyo State Police Command statement on an intelligence-led operation at Adio’s residence in Gbeku, Olodo, around 1:00 a.m.  According to the police, operatives stormed the location at about 1:00 a.m. based on credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of five suspects identified as Ahmed Nafiu, 43; Olukunmi Olaniyi, 36; Femi Odeyinde, 53; Jelili Akinade, 50; and Muhideen Adio, 27. Police further disclosed that a search of the premises resulted in the recovery of a pump-action gun, a cut-to-size single-barrel gun, eight live cartridges, a locally-made bulletproof vest, two bottles of suspected charm-induced substances, and other items considered incriminating. The management of Pacesetter Transport Services (PTS) is taking a firm stance against internal theft, vowing to sanction staff caught stealing company property.  This comes after several staff were apprehended for various acts of pilfering, including the theft of rims and tires from Ashock Layland buses last week. One staff member has reportedly absconded to avoid arrest. The Chairman and Sole Administrator, Hon. Salami Dikko, announced on Saturday that about 73 rims, with an estimated value of over 150,000 each, were stolen by three company vulcanizers.  In addition to the stolen rilms, other staff members, including drivers, have been caught stealing diesel and collecting cash fares without issuing receipts through the Card Payment System. While Nigerians mark June 12 Democracy Day in celebration of freedom, justice, and democratic progress, the Accord candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District in the 2027 election, Wale Ajani, has declared that there is little to celebrate in Oyo State as 39 students and seven teachers abducted by armed men in Ahoro Esinle community, Oriire Local Government Area, have remained in captivity since May 15. In a strongly worded statement released to the media, Ajani described the prolonged captivity of the victims as a heartbreaking tragedy, a national embarrassment, and a painful reminder that democracy means nothing when innocent citizens are left at the mercy of criminals.
