The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state has described the Governor's victory at the last election as God's ordained mandate, saying it is going to be the unifying factor that will put to an end all forms of grievances among all aggrieved leaders and stalwarts within the party. The party, while also congratulating the deputy governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, and all the 28 newly elected and reelected lawmakers on the platform of the ruling party, noted that politics remains a local affair anywhere it is being practiced in the world. There had been allegations of N40 billion fraud perpetrated in the NDDC, a ministry that was headed by Akpabio for three years. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited Godswill Akpabio, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs over an allegation of abuse of office and misappropriation of billions of Naira. The EFCC in an invitation letter served on Akpabio asked him to appear at its office on the 29th day of March 2023, SaharaReporters learned from Akpabio’s lawyer, Umeh Kalu.
