HOME NEWS Sallah: Sultan Declares July 9 Eid Al-Adha The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, on Wednesday, declared July 9 as Eid al-Adha. Also known as Sallah, Eid al-Adha will feature the slaughtering of ram during the period known as the “festival of sacrifice”. This is the second significant celebration in Islam. In a statement issued by the National Moonsighting Committee, the Sultan urged Muslims to intensify prayers during the period. The first is Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan. It also declared Thursday, June 30, as the first day of Dhul Hijjah. “Eidul Adha will be on Saturday, 10th Zul-Hijjah 1443H (9th July 2022) In Sha Allah,” the statement read in part.

The death of Mr. Ajao was confirmed by close political associates in a telephone interview with Oyo News in the early hours of Wednesday. Mr. Ajao, according to our sources, died in the early hours of Monday. He was in his early 40s. He breathed his last at his residence after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. Niyi Ajao was a young compound chief in Ibadanland, known as Mogaji. He was the MogajiAirgunegun. HOME NEWS Hajj 2022: Oyo pilgrims In Medina Receive Travel Reimbursements All the travel allowances promised by His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde have been paid to the Oyo State pilgrims staying in Medina for Hajj 2022. The Chairman of the State Pilgrim Welfare board (Muslim Wing), Professor Sayed Malik, told journalists at Olodo Hajj camp in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state. Professor Malik said that all pilgrims were paid their travel allowances by the board officials in Medina. “We have paid the traveling allowances of all the pilgrims from Oyo State.
