Just In: Kidnapped Oyo LG Boss, Driver Regain Freedom


Kidnapped caretaker chairman of Iganna local council development area of Oyo State, Comrade Jacob Olayiwola Adeleke, and his driver have regained freedom.

Their freedom came 6 days after they were abducted.

A council boss, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed their release.


BOWA MEDIA had reported how the council helmsman was kidnapped Sunday night alongside his driver along Okeho-Ado Awaye on their way to Ibadan for a meeting scheduled with Governor Seyi Makinde on Monday.

Men of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, from the area and neighboring local government areas and LCDAs are had been deployed forests and bushes in the area.

Though details of their release were still sketchy as at press time, This Newspaper understands that the abductors had reached out to families of the victims, demanding N200 million ransom.
