I Deprived Myself An Official Car To Accomplish The Establishment Of Our LCDA Secretariat- Ganiyu Omotosho

 Alhaji Ganiyu Abiodun Omotosho is the present caretaker Chairman of Oke Badan LCDA, Eleyele Ibadan, our correspondent had a brief chat with him , discussing his achievements so far in office and his future Political plans

My name is Alhaji Ganiyu Abiodun Omotosho and by God's grace I'm the caretaker Chairman Oke Badan North LCDA, Eleyele

You have been in office for a couple of  months now , what can you pre-point as success , challenges and all ...

Like everybody will know that instrument of every organisation / Authority is the office, within which it's operating.. when we came on board exactly a year now, Appointed as the caretaker Chairman of the Lcda and as we all know the Lcda is also part of the newly created councils from the existing 33 local government.

It's been three years now that the Lcda has been in existence and it's has been operating from the main council , which I felt so uncomfortable with and this prompted me to make it my major pirioty, which we all know that having our own different site and office will bring us more closer to the grassroots and that was the primary aim of the established lcda and to glory of God within a year in office we were able to move to our present location here in Eleyele the designated area for old Badan LCDA

Not only that while trying to make sure that was in place, we also made sure we were able to have a standardized human infrastructure / reason is if you don't manage the people well all the physical infrastructure will be gone in a blink of an eye..At that note we embarked on a sustainable stomach infrastructure and how do we achive that, by engaging our people towards what will bring food to thier table , because we can not always give food all the time, we established a vocational centre where we have gainful engaged over 300 individuals.

In the area of security we donated a patrol vehicle to the Divisional Police Office, Eleyele at recent visit to our office. We have installed some boreholes, transformers and also by next week we are embarking on the light up across the Lcda and also we just completed a hall In one of the secondary school which was very important and of essential need, Simply because without the hall in place the students won't be able to have their exams

Yes talking about challenges we had few challenges, raging from our first stay in office when the APC brought in some hoodlums to destroy public and government properties within the council ..There after the Pandemic struck in and all of this you know affected the economic drive even not just to the council alone, it's affected the state , federal and the world at large, and all of this had not been an easy situation to curtail but we are ever grateful to our governor who has been up and doing towards making sure his goverment gets closer and impactful to the grassroots..

Considering the less funding from the state, how have you been able to Achieved all of this , from the establishment of Council office and other projects

It's simple, I have always worked based on my laid down piorities making sure I focus on the most importants and ensuring that every dime that's comes into the council is judiciously spent and we had trained our selves to avoid unnecessary spending and all ..You will agree with me that I do not have an Official car as a council boss, I thought of it why do I have to get a car of 2 million plus, when such an amount can be channeled to the masses on improved welfare and infrastructure, which I and all other top administrators had to deny Ourselves of our personal needs..

That's a good one , back to the EndSARS Protests according to the information gathered, Eleyele was not included as the unsettled zone , how where you able to manage this ..

Yes , immediately I came on board I made sure I toured round the whole wards in my Lcda simply because I knew that I do not have much , making sure that our spending was on the right thing and at the right time ..

And also I was very close to the youths and very accessible taking for instance the executive governor of our dear state His Exellency OLUSEYI MAKINDE who was free to have interacted and even walk into the midst of the angry protesters without been molested shows the connection between the grassroots and the Government is on a positive note 

Finally sir the Oyo State house of Assembly just approved another three months of stay for all caretaker chairmen in the state, and we are hoping thereafter there would be an election , are you contesting for the seat at the main council 

You know what , yes as a Politician it's normal to be ambitious but as it stands now my major obligation is the mandate given to me for the next three months ..So therefore let's see how far we can go with that ...
