There’s No Governance In Nigeria – Ex-Speaker Na’abba~ BOWA MEDIA
The former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Na'abba, says "the worst amongst us is being enthroned to manage our affairs."

A former Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Ghali Na’Abba, said on Monday that there is an absence of leadership in the country.

Mr Na’Abba decried the spate of violence across the country, adding that the masses are bearing the brunt of the mayhem of the crises.

In a veiled reference to President Muhammadu Buhari’s inability to halt the pervasive insecurity in Nigeria, Mr Na’Abba said, “The worst amongst us is being enthroned to manage our affairs.”

He spoke at a gathering of ethnic nationalities in Abuja.

The meeting is being attended by prominent sociocultural leaders such as Ayo Adebanjo of Afenifere, and former governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife of Ohaneze-Ndigbo among others.

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC have insisted that there is no going back on the nationwide industrial action slated to commence on Monday, June 3, 2024. The development followed the decision of the unions after a four-hour meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly on Sunday evening in Abuja ended in a deadlock “For now, we don’t have the power to call off the strike, tomorrow (Monday) morning, the strike will kick off as we take their (NASS) plea asking us to call off the strike to our various organs,” said Festus Osifo after the meeting with NASS leadership. Strike: Aviation Unions To Shut Local, International Airports

In compliance with the indefinite strike declared by the organised labour, aviation unions have directed members to withdraw services across airports in Nigeria. The withdrawal would take effect by 12:00 am on Monday June 3, the unions declared. The unions include the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals (ANAP) and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE). It was learnt that they took the decision after an emergency meeting held on Sunday. The unions in a joint statement signed by Comrade Ocheme Aba, General Secretary NUATE; Comrade Frances Akinjole, Deputy General Secretary ATSSSAN; Comrade Abdul Rasaq Saidu, Secretary General ANAP and Comrade Olayinka Abioye General Secretary NAAPE directed all branches to comply.
