SECURITY: Makinde Scores Police High On Cooperation With Amotekun, Other Security Agencies •Demands Another Mobile Police Squadron For Oyo Town

While speaking, the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, disclosed that the Force would soon commence the recruitment of about 20,000 junior police officers, saying that necessary machinery to aid the process has been piy in place.
He further stressed that the recruitment exercise would not only expand the capacity of the force in combating crime but embolden its community policing strategy.

“On the recruitment, we have issues with our bosses but, now, we have overcome the issues and we have the blessing of Mr. President to increase our strength to 20,000. The approval we had was to recruit 10,000 for 6 years. Funding has been provided for us to embark on the recruitment and that means every local government will benefit from this gesture.
