Oyo PDP Youth Leader, Michael Ogunsina Pens Heartfelt Message To Gov Makinde, Hallelujah, Famojuro, Others• Vows To Embark On Strategic Mobilization
Before I pass on to the full text of my speech, I will like to recognize the Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Engineer Seyi Makinde and I express my gratitude to him for staying true to integrity and good governance.
His deliberate commitment towards investing in young people and allowing us to excel is the reason you are reading this from me today, I humbly appreciate His Excellency.

Governor Seyi Makinde strides in public service is being noticed everywhere across the country and this is why for the first time in many years, there is a consensus on the sincerity of this Governor we are proud to identify with him and be called ‘his boys’.
I also wish to thank my leaders who have put Party affairs before personal gains. Our leaders are numerous to mention but permit to single out Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Distinguished Senator Hosea Agboola Halleluyah, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi (the Chief of Staff), Otunba Seye Famojuro, Prince Dotun Oyelade, other Prominent Leaders, Elders and Stakeholders of our Party in Oyo State. Their dedication to building a Party beyond sentiments has brought us this far.

We have been taught that every politics is local; I wholeheartedly appreciate the support of my Leaders, Fathers and Stakeholders of our party from Ibadan North Local Government.
I appreciate our Executive Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Shaib Oladayo (Agba Egbe), Hon. Seun Adelore, Leader Omilabu Ghandi, Hon. Tayo Sarumi, Engr. Daniel Ajuwon, Alhaji Rasak Adekola, Alhaji Egbende, Hon. Lukman Agboluaje, Mrs. Julian Nwachukwu, Hon. Awoleye Abiodun Dada, Hon Hammed Alabanla, Iya Patako and other great and phenomenal leaders from my dearly beloved Local Government
Special mention to everyone from my political ward and base, Ward 08, Ibadan North, I am grateful for your support, push and encouragement. I am grateful.

I also wish to recognize the teeming population of youths for their support, solidarity and courage during the struggle. I feel a huge sense of responsibility and at the same time a very high sense of happiness because I know you will not leave me to do it alone.
The energy with which we executed the campaign was exemplary. It embodies the youthful character – resilience, strength and courage.
We do not hold this victory as the end of a struggle. We hold it to be the beginning of hard work to mobilize our people to support the Party. Step by step, we will reclaim Nigeria and the hard work starts now!

Across the country, people are fed up with the All Progressives Congress and the regime of Major General Muhammadu Buhari. Insecurity is winning. The mighty Armed Forces of Nigeria which has brought peace to other countries has appeared weak under this government. The rate at which people die has shocked the world. According to many sources including Nigerian Security Tracker not less than 36,035 people were killed between 2015 and 2019. Perhaps more have died.
Many people now ask “is this Nigeria?” Is this how we are going to continue?
This is not without impact on the economy. People are poorer and food has become scarce. The worse the insecurity, the worse the economy becomes. It is a vicious cycle, a confusing one. The danger is that more people are gravitating towards ethnic violence and religious extremism. I am not being an alarmist. This is the reality we live with presently.

Comrades, that isStrategic Mobilization is another focus of my agenda for the Youth Wing how much work we must do together to reclaim Nigeria. From Oyo State, we shall be playing our role in moderating the political change towards ideological politics.
We want to unite the Party. The Youth Wing is the strength of the Party. We must cultivate a selfless force for democracy and good governance. We must stand and as one. This is important if our Party must succeed. It is at the core of my agenda.

Strategic Mobilization is another focus of my agenda for the Youth Wing. We will build a presence everywhere in Oyo and we will keep strengthening our position for continuity and development.
Furthermore more, innovation and charismatic representation shall be a feature of my time as the State Youth Leader of the People’s Democratic Party. We want to do things the right way. The world is changing. We must be able to think deeply about solutions to our problems. The modern world is a world of intelligent conversations, of technology, of information. We want to be part of it.
In conclusion, I believe so very well in democracy. That idea has taught us that no man is God and that no man should be above scrutiny. So please pass on your criticism. I am open to criticism. I want to hear you speak. I want your advice and warning.

In a speech prepared for delivery in Dallas on the day of his assassination, November 22, 1963 the 35th President of the US John F. Kennedy wrote: “Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” While we must avoid stupid mistakes as we want to learn. Our journey begins!!
IT IS A NEW DAWN!!!!!!
Power to the People!

Michael Ogunsina

Oyo State PDP Youth Leader.
