Why Seyi Makinde Will Return For Second Term -Oladokun Olatunji 

AS RIGHTLY SAID, "ONE GOOD TERM DESERVES ANOTHER".

GSM'S Good Politics Cum Good Governance Deserves Another Tenure.

CONTINUITY - The Government under the Leadership of His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde  has embarked on many developmental projects that some of it may exceed 2023 before completion, in which it may be abandoned if a new Government is elected. This is yet another area where Gov. Seyi Makinde  is miles ahead of other Nigeria Politicians... 

He met several uncompleted projects on ground on taking over, and instead of abandoning the Projects, he completed them all because Government is CONTINUM....

Gov. Seyi Makinde  of Oyo State  has continued to show that he is more focused on people centered policies. A kind of politics that has hitherto been scarce in the current political setting in Nigeria.

He keeps improving on different Sectors of the economy that concerns the people mostly....reasons he  was referred to as "The People's Governor"

Re-Electing GSM till 2027 will be the best option for Oyo  State residents in continuation of the Good Governance from His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde..

On Education: The Oyo State Government under the Administration of GSM has reduced the number of out-of-school children in the State by 20% in the past 2 years.

With the full implementation of Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA), more children will be returned back to the classrooms.

We all know what brought about this, was the cancellation of #3k levy payments, Prompt payments of Teacher's Salaries and their promotions, and the free educational programs that includes free textbooks and notes books to all students.

As at March this year, Oyo State has been rated amongst the top 11 States with Quality Education in Nigeria which was not before, so if Seyi Makinde is given another 4 years opportunity to serve the State till 2027 the State would still progress more and more. 

Another reason why this present administration should be re-elected is that, this present administration has done a tremendous work in terms of developing Oyo State, from the urban areas to the rural level and no sector or Local Government has exceeded without feeling the touch of his transformation. 

We can also see how the introduction of Park Management System (PMS) has brought huge increase to the State revenue by generating almost #15bn withing 2years for the State.

This has really helped the State in boosting it's

 Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

In "IGR" ranking, Oyo State has moved from 13th to 6th in the country and we need this to continue so that we can be amongst the top 3 in the country before 2027.

 Oyo State is making #4bn per month, all thanks to Makinde, we were #2bn in June 2019.

This shows that GSM is piloting the State forward and if another 4 years is added for him to Govern the State, the State would automatically be competing with the likes of Rivers and Lagos in terms of IGR generation.

 

Right now, we are among the only 5 states in Nigeria that can conveniently do without Federal Government allocation, all thanks to our Visionary Governor.

Oyo State has paid off #13.69bn in gratuities, #8.5bn from this was owed by last administration from 2011-2014, while he paid those that retired under him... And continuing this way will be the prayers of the pensioners so as to receive what they worked for in the last 35 years. 

With this, we need our amiable Governor to continue to lead Oyo State so as to clear all the pensioners backlogs as this would bring more joy, put smiles on their faces and ease their children from burden.

Since 2years ago, we have stopped hearing, "We have not yet receive allocation from FG in Oyo State" as the civil servants always receive their salaries on the 25th of every month and 13th month salary included, this has really injected more money into circulation and helped business people also to sell more as workers are now more buoyant to buy and Pay cash as against the buy On credit known with the past administration.

We want this to continue more as we are hearing good feedbacks from the masses with the joy on their faces praising the People's Governor.

WHAT GSM NEEDS TO FIX IF ELECTED AGAIN

He should continue to prioritize on Educational Sector as quality Education is an asset to the nation 

We all know what good Education can solve.

Here in Oyo State, we believe that an  Educated population is an asset to the Nation..."Education beget development, and developments brings about positive change and transformation" 

He should be able to identify some loopholes and leakages especially with the Tertiary institutions forensic audit from time to time to check and keep them on their toes. This will make them more accountable and things there will be more transparent as Transparency and Accountability are part of GSMs' watchword.

The Governor will also need to work on the negative perception of some Political gladiators that feel he can no longer be trusted. Although he has tried to unite them he should continue with it for more progress.

He should work more on Our economy Standard by developing new sources of revenue and improving on the existing ones through innovation without burdening the people with unnecessary taxes.

This would in turn, attract more private entities and investors. This, he has been doing for the past two years now as we can see the increments in our IGR since 2019.  

Agriculture budget should be Increased to 10%  because agriculture can generate at least 65 -70% return on yield while adopting the following ; Mechanized farming or Estate farming, Fish farming, piggery, Crop/Vegetable farming, Citrus farming e.t.c 

I would also like GSM to use Agriculture as a weapons to fight POVERTY and Empower more people. 

GSM needs to also employ more Primary School Teachers.

New teachers were promptly recruited into Secondary Schools of recent Kudos to GSM but no such in primary school and the teachers there are being choked will buck activities.

Their leave grants for 2020 has not been paid while other workers have enjoyed theirs even to that of 2021 grants are being paid as usual. 

Waiting period of promotion from 13-14 in primary has always been minimum of 6yrs and that of secondary is 3yrs even to level 15 despite having same certificate.

Beggers that were relocated are now back to the street now especially Iwo road and Mokola, Oyo State Government needs to put some forces that will keep monitoring them back to back.
