OYHA lawmaker Hon. Don Empowers 600 Constituents With Cash Grants•Sets February 23rd For Mega Empowerment
The state honorable representing Ibadan North Constituency 1, Hon. Fola Oyekunle Sunday popularly known as DON has empowered indigents of his Constituency with cash grants running into millions of Naira, It will be recalled that the lawmaker facilitated the upgrade and expansion of Health Center, which began few months ago.
The entrepreneurship program was spread across the six wards in constituency one of Ibadan north local government, Oyo State, at the weekend, as grants for 400 individuals to start up their small-scale businesses.

According to the lawmaker, the empowerment was part of his constituency project towards a better livelihood for indigents of his Constituent. He said each beneficiary was selected randomly across the six wards and got between N50,000 and N100,000 cash depending on the category of business.
 
The lawmaker explained that he had chosen cash empowerment after due consultation with his constituents, adding that he was sure that it would have direct impact on them.
 
He implored them to use the resources judiciously for the purpose it was meant for, assuring that apart from the ongoing ones, there will be a mega empowerment which will take place 18th of February other physical projects would be executed soon.
 
One of the beneficiaries from the ward, Mrs Dasola Yussuf, expressed delight at what he described as an “outstanding and impactful project.” Dasola, who got some reasonable amount, said it would help her begin a profitable business.
 
Another beneficiary from ward 5, Amusa Bola, who also got the same amount as others, said that there couldn’t have been a better way to alleviate people’s suffering at the grassroots than such an empowerment program.

Strike: Aviation Unions To Shut Local, International Airports

In compliance with the indefinite strike declared by the organised labour, aviation unions have directed members to withdraw services across airports in Nigeria. The withdrawal would take effect by 12:00 am on Monday June 3, the unions declared. The unions include the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals (ANAP) and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE).
