Consensus- A Repetition Of Sen. Kola Balogun And Ajimobi In 2019 General Polls Might Re-Occur ~ Ona Ara LG, OYHA Aspirants Fumes Against Adoption Of Candidate
It's no longer news that the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has instructed party leaders, across the 33-local governments in Oyo state, which Ona- Ara local government was not exempted
This followed a statement made by all the oyo sate house of assembly aspirants in Ona Ara local government, declaring their displeasure on the choice of a consensus candidate.

In a joint signed list made available to BOWA MEDIA by all the Oyo state house of assembly aspirants in Ona ara, as at press time, rejected the purported adoption of an aspirant.

The aspirants dissociated its from the adoption, saying:“ For fairness and tranquility, we reject the adoption of a consensus in our local government (Ona - ara) and we are appealing to his excellency the Executive Governor of oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde to allow us exercise our right to franchise by going for a primary, which has been the norm of the party (PDP).


You will recall, that Engr. Seyi Makinde met with party leaders last friday and informed them of his intention to present party expression of interest for Senatorial, National Assembly and State House of Assembly.  Bowa Media learnt that the Governor Instructed the leaders of the 33 local governments in the State to meet with their people and present consensus candidates 


BOWA MEDIA learnt that agreement documents was signed by all aspirants, which authenticate their decision that primary election should be conducted as against the wish of the Governor to present a consensus candidate.

An aspirant who want anonymity disclosed to BOWA MEDIA that the governor's decision on consensus will only create division and a near failure at the general poll, stating that most of this present serving honorable got to that position on the Governor's tsunami in 2019, saying most of them are not popular at their various constituency.


He further urged the governor to allow the ASPIRANTS test their popularity on the field and let the party remain one, else the case of Senator Kola Balogun and Ajimobi in Oyo South Senatorial election might repeat itself, he concluded.
