Oyo ALGON Paid Condolence Visit To Popoola Family Over Lawmaker's Demise
Hon. Sikiru Sanda the Oyo State ALGON chairman led a delegation of its members on Sunday, to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late OYHA lawmaker, hon. Olusegun Poopola described the news as a rude shock to everyone.
The executive chairman of Uganda local government and also Oyo state ALGON chair, Sikiru Sanda led the delegation which comprised the ALGON Secretary, Timothy Oyedoukun, the PRO, Yusuff Sahib Oladayo, and Oluwode Alawode among others.
Sanda described the late Popoola as a responsible lawmaker who had represented his constituency and the people of the state while discharging his duty.
According to him, Popoola was a highly cerebral politician who was selfless and had into consideration the will of the people at all time
The ALGON chair, who attested to the genuine representation of the late lawmaker and his immense contribution to the development of the state through his legislative duties, will be deeply missed.
He charged the family to take solace in God and assure the government at the grassroots will ensure prompt communication with the family and also ensure that the legacy the late lawmaker craved for when he was alive was maintained.
“We are here to represent the government at the grassroots over the unfortunate incident that occurred to our brother and friend. We want to say on behalf of the 33 local governments In Oyo state that we are deeply sorry for the sad occurrence. It came as a shock to all of us.
“It is so sad, but we have to forge ahead, and I pray that the Lord will give us the fortitude to bear the loss. The Lord will comfort the family and political associates. The best we can do to his memory is to also forge ahead and to ensure that his legacy does not die and the impact that he brought to his constituency should be sustained,” Sanda said.
Responding, the wife of the late lawmaker expressed her appreciation to Oyo ALGON for the prompt visit.
