Makinde Paid LAUTECH N200 Million As Condition To Discontinue Solidarity Strike With ASUU But Reneged - Acting Gov Speaks ~ BOWA MEDIA
...Says Govt Not Indebted To Institution

Oyo state acting Governor Barrister Bayo Lawal has described the sympathy strike embarked upon by the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho in solidarity with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as unnecessary and called for full resumption of the institution
The acting Governor stated this today as a sideline while delivering a keynote address at a stakeholders consultative meeting on 2023 budget.

Barrister Bayo Lawal argued that the state government was not in any way indebted to LAUTECH, and has shown commitment in fulfilling its obligation to the institution, as such they should discontinue their solidarity with ASUU henceforth

He also disclosed that the state government had fulfilled a recent agreement with LAUTECH to call off the strike even after 200 million naira was paid to the institution as a condition to call off the strike.

The acting Governor also tasked the people to always be concerned about societal progress and development rather than clogging the wheel of progress.
