Just In: Makinde Motivates Olympic Eagles With N10m, $25,000 
Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has motivated under 23 Olympic Eagles team who will be playing against Tanzania on Saturday by splashing the sum of N10 million and $25 thousand on them.
Makinde made the promise at a dinner organized by the state government for the team at Government House, Agodi, Ibadan.

Makinde promised the team a sum of ten million naira cash tonight while promising to give additional twenty thousand dollars at Lekan Salami Stadium on Saturday regardless of the result.

He added that the present administration will continue to promote sport development among other opportunities in football.


The event had in attendance, Deputy Governor, Barrister Abdulraheem Adebayo Lawal, Speaker Oyo House of Assembly, Debo Ogundoyin.

Others are, Head of Service, Alhaja Ololade Agboola, Deputy Chief of Staff, Ademola Ojo, DG Due Process, Ms Tara Adefope, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr Seun Fakorede.

Special Assistant on Youth and Sports, Kazeem Bolarinwa, Special Assistant on Sports Development, Tobi Oyewumi, Special Assistant on Students Affairs, Victor Olojede.

The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC have insisted that there is no going back on the nationwide industrial action slated to commence on Monday, June 3, 2024. Strike: Aviation Unions To Shut Local, International Airports

In compliance with the indefinite strike declared by the organised labour, aviation unions have directed members to withdraw services across airports in Nigeria. The withdrawal would take effect by 12:00 am on Monday June 3, the unions declared. The unions include the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), Association of Nigerian Aviation Professionals (ANAP) and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE). It was learnt that they took the decision after an emergency meeting held on Sunday.
