APM Candidate, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA), Sponsors PVC Drive at Okolo Market to Boost Voter Participation in Ibarapa East
The candidate of the Allied Peoples' Movement (APM) for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA), has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots political participation by sponsoring a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) registration and sensitisation drive at Okolo Market in Ibarapa East.
The community outreach was coordinated by APM chieftain Alhaja Oseni Salimot Tunrayo in collaboration with the KSA Women's Wing of Ibarapa East. The initiative attracted market men and women, youths, and residents who turned out to register, update, or collect information about their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of future elections.
Speaking during the event, Alhaja Oseni Salimot Tunrayo stressed that obtaining a PVC is not only a constitutional right but also a civic responsibility. She urged eligible residents, particularly young people and women, to participate actively in the electoral process, noting that meaningful development can only be achieved when citizens make their voices count through the ballot.
Volunteers from the KSA Women's Wing provided guidance throughout the registration exercise, assisting participants with the registration process, answering questions, and educating residents on the importance of voter participation. Their efforts created an inclusive and welcoming environment that encouraged many first-time voters to take part in the exercise.
Addressing the gathering, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA) described the PVC as the most powerful instrument citizens possess to influence governance and demand accountability from elected leaders. He encouraged residents of Ibarapa East to take advantage of the opportunity to register and remain committed to democratic participation.
Beyond voter registration, the programme also featured community engagement activities, including civic education, health awareness, and discussions on issues affecting local development. The atmosphere at Okolo Market reflected unity and enthusiasm as residents, community leaders, and traders interacted throughout the exercise.
The organisers noted that the initiative forms part of KSA's broader grassroots empowerment strategy aimed at promoting political awareness and increasing voter participation across the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency.
