Ibadan North-East Chairman, Akintayo, Equips Voluntary Policing Personnel with Security Gadgets, Kits


As part of sustained efforts to enhance security and ensure the welfare of security personnel at the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (O mu Yes), on Friday presented newly acquired security gadgets and kits to members of the Ibadan North-East Local Government Voluntary Policing Staff.

The items distributed include jungle boots, security metal scanners, shockers, uniforms, whistles, and protective security vests, all aimed at improving the effectiveness and safety of the voluntary security operatives in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Akintayo reiterated that the security of lives and property, as well as the welfare of residents of Ibadan North East Local Government and its environs remain paramount to his administration.
He noted that his administration is making tremendous efforts to tackle security challenges at the local government level in order to guarantee a peaceful and conducive environment for residents. 

The Chairman also offered prayers for the safe release of the abducted children and teachers in Oriire Local Government.

Present at the event were the Divisional Police Officer, Agugu Police Station, CSP Olubunmi Akanbi; the Divisional Police Officer, Testing Ground Division, CSP Oyeyemi Oyeniyi, who presented the items and commended the Chairman for his unwavering support to security agencies; the Divisional Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, DSP Shotomi Felix; the DSS Director, Ibadan North-East Local Government, Mrs. Risikat Giwa; officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ibadan North-East Local Government; and representatives of the Operation Burst Office.
Also in attendance were the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Olufemi Afolabi; the Councillor in charge of Security, Hon. Lukman Owolabi; the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs. Omolara Aremu; the Acting Head of Ibadan East LCDA, Mr. Hakeem Ogunyejo; the Director of Administration and General Services, Mr. Kehinde Fashola; the Director of Finance and Supplies, Mr. Ayodele Ejiade, among other top government officials and stakeholders in IbadanNorth-East Local Government. 

The presentation underscores the commitment of the Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo-led administration to strengthening the security architecture of Ibadan North-East Local Government and fostering a safer environment for all residents.

Ibadan Police Raid: Group Demands Public Clarification From Oriyomi Hamzat Over Alleged Links To Arrested Suspect

A concerned group has urged Agidigbo FM CEO and Accord Party governorship aspirant, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, to publicly clarify his alleged relationship with Surajudeen Babatunde Adio, alias “Surii Ilupeju,” after a police raid in Ibadan led to multiple arrests. The call follows an Oyo State Police Command statement on an intelligence-led operation at Adio’s residence in Gbeku, Olodo, around 1:00 a.m.  According to the police, operatives stormed the location at about 1:00 a.m. based on credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of five suspects identified as Ahmed Nafiu, 43; Olukunmi Olaniyi, 36; Femi Odeyinde, 53; Jelili Akinade, 50; and Muhideen Adio, 27.
