Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have successfully rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, following a daring rescue operation conducted at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

The operation culminated in a fierce exchange of gunfire between police operatives and suspected kidnappers, resulting in the death of two members of the gang.

Security personnel also recovered two firearms from the suspects.

Mrs. John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her children were abducted on the morning of June 3, 2026, while travelling to drop the boys off at school.

According to security sources, relentless intelligence gathering, coordinated surveillance, and sustained pressure mounted by law enforcement agents forced the kidnappers into a confrontation, paving the way for the victims’ safe rescue.

Meanwhile, security operatives have intensified search operations across surrounding communities to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate.

Some of the fleeing suspects are believed to have escaped with gunshot injuries sustained during the encounter.
