Sanda Lauds Makinde At Inauguration Of 3rd Oyo Youth Parliament, Charges Members To Lead With Integrity


The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele (Lajue), has commended the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering commitment to youth development, inclusive leadership, and democratic participation, as demonstrated by the inauguration of the 3rd Oyo State Youth Parliament.


Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Hon. Sanda described the Youth Parliament as a strategic platform established to nurture responsible, visionary, and patriotic young leaders capable of contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Oyo State and Nigeria.

He congratulated the newly inaugurated youth parliamentarians on their emergence, urging them to regard their appointments as a call to selfless service rather than a privilege. According to him, the confidence reposed in them must be justified through integrity, discipline, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.


The council chairman further encouraged the young legislators to serve as worthy ambassadors of their families, communities, and Oyo State by promoting peace, unity, innovation, and constructive engagement in all their activities. He noted that the future of the state rests largely in the hands of its vibrant youth population and challenged them to lead by example.

Hon. Sanda also reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting youth-focused initiatives that promote leadership development, entrepreneurship, education, and civic responsibility. He called on young people across the state to remain law-abiding, patriotic, and actively involved in the collective task of nation-building.

He concluded by wishing members of the 3rd Oyo State Youth Parliament a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that they would make significant contributions to the continued progress, development, and prosperity of Oyo State.

Ibadan Police Raid: Group Demands Public Clarification From Oriyomi Hamzat Over Alleged Links To Arrested Suspect

A concerned group has urged Agidigbo FM CEO and Accord Party governorship aspirant, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, to publicly clarify his alleged relationship with Surajudeen Babatunde Adio, alias “Surii Ilupeju,” after a police raid in Ibadan led to multiple arrests. The call follows an Oyo State Police Command statement on an intelligence-led operation at Adio’s residence in Gbeku, Olodo, around 1:00 a.m.  According to the police, operatives stormed the location at about 1:00 a.m. based on credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of five suspects identified as Ahmed Nafiu, 43; Olukunmi Olaniyi, 36; Femi Odeyinde, 53; Jelili Akinade, 50; and Muhideen Adio, 27.
