Security: Akintayo Strengthens Security Architecture, Donates Equipment to Police, DSS, Amotekun
As part of efforts aimed at enhancing security and improving the operational efficiency of security agencies within the local government, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North-East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, popularly known as O mu Yes, today presented generators and computer sets to various security formations in the local government.
The items were distributed as follows: Agugu Police Station received one generator and one set of computer; Agodi Police Station received one generator and one set of computer; the Department of State Services (DSS), Ibadan North-East Local Government, received one generator and one set of computer; the Oyo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, received one generator; while the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Agugu office, received one generator.
Presenting the items, Hon. Akintayo said the gesture was in line with his administration's commitment to supporting security agencies and creating a safer environment for residents of the local government. He noted that effective security is essential for sustainable development and assured that his administration would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders in maintaining peace and order.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Agugu Police Station, CSP Olubunmi Akanbi, expressed appreciation to the Chairman for the gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that would go a long way in enhancing the performance and operational efficiency of the various security agencies. He commended Hon. Akintayo for his support and pledged that the items would be judiciously used for the purposes for which they were provided.
The beneficiaries also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening security and ensuring the protection of lives and property across Ibadan North-East Local Government.
Present at the event were the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Mrs. Omolara Aremu; the Director of Administration and General Services; Mr Kehinde Fashola, Some political functionaries and other top management staff of Ibadan North-East Local Government, among others.
